Waking Up Early Doesn't Make Your Morning Routine Great. But These 3.5 Things Do

Mornings are where the tone for your day is set. Having a powerful routine goes a long way in setting you up for a successful day.

1. Get Moving.

Get your buns out of bed! Smile.  Its a new day!! Walking outside or exercising in the morning is an easy win to get out of the way. Because you're subject to interruptions and distractions later. Exercising now increases your energy levels for the day, so take your time in the morning and do it. Successful days have successful morning routines, they all have one constant: getting moving.

2. Work on a non-work-related goal.

Your personal development outside of work is important. Take the time early in the morning to work on something you've been putting off. This could be reading, learning a new language, meditate, etc.

3. Find a routine that works for you and write it out.

There's no one-size-fits-all when it comes to morning routines. If you search for successful morning routines you'll see a mixture, all varying in the amount of activity and the time different people get up.

3.5 Remember to get enough sleep.

There's no one-size-fits-all when it comes to morning routines. But your body really does need 6-7 hours of good sleep each night. If you search for successful morning routines you'll see a mixture, all varying in the amount of activity and the time different people get up.

But as billionaire Richard Branson puts it, "Over my 50 years in business, I have learned that if I rise early I can achieve so much more in a day, and therefore in life."

I personally went from being someone who rolled out of bed every day 30 minutes before work and scrambled to get ready to jump right in, instead of living and getting my brain and body ready. Here is my routine:

6:00 a.m. Wake up, walk dog, get coffee, sit in front of the fountain (meditate and breathe, focus on the day and being thankful).

7:00 a.m Check oversea’s calls and important messages during the evening.

7:30 a.m  Go home to shower and get dressed

8:00 a.m Start the day with eggs and veggies and Zero+

8:30 a.m. Head to the office

4:00 p.m. Yoga to finish the day

You need to audit your current morning routine and see what is holding you back from the day you want. Is it sleep? Is it the snooze button? Once you audit yourself, you can acknowledge areas for improvement. Get up and get going.

Zero+ helps sleep, anxiety and overall wellness.   Try it each day and notice the difference.  It is especially beneifical for those with inflammation caused from workouts or other activities (www.zroplus.com).
